The Battle of Leyte Gulf

NOTE: Posters Father was a radar operator on a Fletcher class destroyer who was within radar range of the first Japan Force attempting to enter landing area. This was within range of Japanese crusisers 8” guns but outside that of the 5” gun range of the American destroyer. The 3rd Fleet then recalled his ship to accompany the fast carriers to intercept Japanese carrier approaching from the North. Dad didn’t talk much about the war but this incident and Okinawa later on he did.
